WÖNKY were at this year's Cheltenham Science Festival to talk about and demonstrate their latest mediascape.

Vicky Brophy, WÖNKY's Head of Digital, was on the panel of the IMPACT! Debate along side Science Minister Lord Drayson to discuss how science can build a better future for Britain (...with places like the Pervasive Media Studio being among her answers).  Vicky opened up the event by explaining how WONKY have used mediascapes to create their 'Movie on the Move' & 'Game on the Go' and how these were made possible through funding from the Technology Strategy Board, NESTA's 'Dare to be Digital' scheme plus Lottery funding through South West Screen.

WÖNKY then went on to showcase their new mediscape 'Climate Changed' on the family fun day. This mediascape is set in the future and looks at the possible implications of climate change if we don’t react now.   It tackles environmental issues such as sustainability and conservation related to the key stage three curriculum.
The festival offered the perfect opportunity to test the game elements while introducing mscapes to a multitude of intrigued children.  It was really good fun and lead to invaluable feedback that we're already incorporating into the next stage of development.
