We have been researching how artificial intelligence might help us make an artwork and we have come across the work of Dr Peter Hall and Bath University. http://www.cs.bath.ac.uk/~pmh/start/home.html He has created programs which replicate a naive approach to painting and drawing, which is an area that interests us.

Having worked with young people to make artworks on several occasions, we are always impressed by the way they paint and draw. We are interested in using a process such as working with a 'painting' computer program to help us 'unlearn' the style and techniques that we have developed through art education. We are meeting with Dr hall soon to discuss ideas with him.

We have also been endeavoring to persuade the online chatbot Cleverbot to suggest an artwork to us. 'You'll Never Believe Anything Again' …

User: OK. I am an artist. I want to make a painting. I would like you to help me with it if you are ok with that?

Cleverbot: Alright, I suggest zombies.

User: Great, I'll do a painting of zombies.

User: What colour should the zombies be?

Cleverbot: Gold.

User: What else should be in the painting?

Cleverbot: Robot clothes.

User: What should the title of the painting be?

Cleverbot: You'll never believe anything again.

User: So shall I call the painting 'You'll never believe anything again'?

Cleverbot: Yes, I will pray for you.
