So, what can you make with an old printer motor, a battery box from an old toy, a polystyrene disc from under a pizza and a bag of plastic beetles?

We held our first PMStudio gadget club session on a saturday morning in late October. Constance and Tarim had great fun preparing, testing out some ideas here at PMStudio with John Honniball, building things that move, using toothbrushes, batteries, magnets, bits of wire....and then we let some younger people join in. We spent two busy hours with a bunch of kids and a few parents. Some of the results are sitting on the PMStudio windowsill, we also have various footage that the kids shot of their working gadgets.

They all want to come again, and so the next session in November, we will be making homopolar motors - watch this space for a description of what we make.

And, if you can any bits and pieces that we can use for our box of tricks - old cotton reels, elastic bands, felt pens, batteries (especially the round flat 3v ones), old mobile phones or pagers that we can take the vibrating motors out of, old printers & scanners we can pull apart, strong round magnets, you name it we can find a use for it.
