After weeks of globe hopping, Studio residents Joanie and Nico stopped by to fill us in on their exciting plans for the upcoming months. Here’s a quick glance at their spring 2011 diary.

AntiVJ’s next performance will take place on 11 March in La Habana, Cuba. The Unesco-protected old part of the city will set the scene for Le Bestiaire, a new sonic and visual piece directed by Romain Tardy. Joanie and Romain’s 2009 collaboration Déshérence was a breathtaking audiovisual installation at a Hotel de Ville in a northern district of Paris, so we can’t wait to see how the beautiful old city of La Habana inspired their new piece.

Amongst AntiVJ’s spring projects are also a number of new, site-specific installations. Joanie Lemercier will create a piece for the inside of a safe at a historic bank in northern France; Legoman Yannick Jacquet, who directed the live audiovisual projection St Gervais, will create a new piece for the Collegiate church of Neuchatel, Switzerland, and the label will collaboratively create a new performance piece for the Abbey of Noirla, France, where they will tackle creating an illusion of horizontal vertigo.
