You are warmly invited to celebrate the work of the talented artists awarded our Southwest Artists Residencies 2011. The final showcase event will take place at Watershed on Thursday, 9 June 2011 at 6.30-8pm and include films of their work, a panel discussion and demonstrations of their work in progress. Tickets are free and can be booked online or through Watershed's Box Office on 0117 927 5100.

The final showcase event marks the end of an exciting journey. In February 2011 we invited applications for artists to undertake a period of research and development. Two groups were chosen and over the last three months they have undertaken an intensive period of research, creation and experimentation to develop their ideas.

The open call for a pervasive media projects brought together playwright Sharon Clark and creative technologist Tom Burton. Together they work on the The Stick House, an innovative theatre installation fusing performance and sensor-technologies to create a haunting yet beautiful piece based on Angela Carter's writing.

The sonic art/music residency, supported by Sound and Music and St George's Bristol with Charles Hazlewood, was awarded to The Guerilla Dance Project. Choreographer Laura Kriefman, composer Tim Bamber and interactive experience designer Robin Ray seek to 'find the dance in every-day life' and explore smart objects and gesture-triggered music for their dance-based games.

We hope to see you on the 9th of June at Watershed.
