This week the Pervasive Media Studio is heading to Bristol's twin city, Bordeaux, to take part in the Semaine Digitale de Bordeaux. Now in it's second year, Bordeaux Digital Week is France's foremost creative technology event, exploring the very latest in digital experiences.
Studio Producer, Verity Alexander and Studio collaborators nu desine, Stand + Stare and Mutant Labs will be kicking off the festival with a showcase of Bristol (and Plymouth's) creativity. We will be demonstrating nu desine's brand new electronic musical instrument the Alphasphere, Stand + Stare's beautiful Theatre Jukebox, an arcade-style cabinet that tells stories using concealed RFID tags, and Operation Sonic Boom by Mutant Labs, a framework that allows sound, pitch and volume to be used as a control mechanism in casual games.
The showcase will take place on Friday evening at the salons of Bordeaux town hall. If you are in the neighbourhood you can book tickets to come and see us here. The following morning we will be in Chez Fred for an informal Q&A on the future of creative technology and the importance of collaboration.
