Title: Tour producer

Salary: £150-200 per day.
Period: Spring-Summer 2019.
Location: The company is based in Bristol. It is not necessary for the producer to be based in Bristol.

The Role:
The company is seeking an experienced producer to work with the company to create a tour for its recent show, Zugunruhe. This will involve building relations with venues and organisations both nationally and internationally.
It is also an opportunity to begin a relationship with the company as it develops exciting new work in 2019.
This role is a part-time, freelance position, on allocated days. Those days are to be agreed with the successful candidate.
The show:
Zugunruhe is a theatre show about bird migration, in the context of mass human migration. It’s created by Mechanimal, a Bristol-based theatre company. It premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe 2018, where it received critical acclaim and a Herald Angel award. More information on the show can be found here:

MECHANIMAL is an theatre company based in Bristol, UK. It’s led by Tom Bailey. Recent/current projects include: Possession (DCAF festival, Cairo 2018) and Ghost Sonata (Samovarteateret, Norway), Biosphere IV (Bristol University / Eden Project). Zugunruhe was made while Tom was Leverhulme artist in residence at UCL. Tom is a resident artist at the Pervasive Media Studio, Bristol.
Although the company is based in Bristol, it is not essential for the candidate to be so, although should be willing to travel.
Essential Skills:
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
- Proven success in producing small- to mid-scale theatre or live performance projects.
- Excellent skills in building and sustaining relationships with venues and organizations.
- Good knowledge of the performance landscape within the areas of science and art, academic research and arts, and theatre.
- Confident negotiation skills.
Desirable Skills:
- An established network of relationships with organisations and individuals in both arts and science sectors.
- A strong interest in art that explores the natural world and environment.
- A strong interest in devised live performance that intersects with humanities/science research.
- Experience of working in devised performance.
