We are delighted to be joined by Resident Rosie Poebright and their collaborator Michelle Roche of WeRebel, who will be discussing their latest project, 'Play Inside,' a new way of sharing stories.
Rosie of Splash & Ripple and Michelle have collaborated to create Play Inside - a simple yet powerful form of ‘play-story’ that uses the audience's home as a stage for the drama to unfold in. They wanted to break the normal types of story we all consume quite passively, which tend to be commissioned, written and directed by the same kinds of people, and develop a new form that invites the audience to develop compassion for the character through directing their own movement throughout the story. Using this new form of enacted story, they foreground stories by women and gender minorities from POC and Queer perspectives.
The first series of stories, 'Other Mothers', looks at multiple, complex angles on motherhood, informed by personal and community experiences of four writers.
