Otto and Anna Quangel (Gleeson and Thompson) are an ordinary couple in 1940s Berlin, doing their best to ride out the war. But when their son is killed on the frontlines, they pour their rage and grief into postcards emblazoned with anti-Nazi sloagans, risking everything to disseminate their messages of protest across the city.
