Film Hub South West
Developing a thriving and inclusive film sector
Managed by Watershed and supported by National Lottery funding, Film Hub South West is a growing network of over 140 cinemas, film festivals, cross-arts venues and other film exhibition organisations.
The hub works with its members to develop a thriving and inclusive cultural film exhibition sector. Film Hub South West membership is free and offers a range of benefits, including access to training, financial support, film programmes/seasons and networking opportunities.
As of 2018, Film Hub South West is also home to a BFI Network Talent Executive. The Talent Executive works to ensure that filmmakers across the South West can access expertise and funding for short film and early development work. The Talent Executive also works to create opportunities for talent to connect with the local industry, providing networks between early-career and more established filmmakers and creatives.
Film Hub South West aims to:
- Increase the skills, confidence and connectivity of the exhibition sector in the South West
- Support early-career directors, producers and writers
- Broaden audience choice and increase access to film in all its forms, past, present and future
- Engage and grow audiences of all backgrounds for cultural cinema
Film Hub South West is part of the BFI Film Audience Network (BFI FAN), a unique collaboration of eight Film Hubs managed by leading film organisations across the UK (of which Watershed is one). The BFI Film Audience Network is at the heart of the BFI’s latest strategy BFI2022 which seeks to ensure the greatest choice of film is available for everyone.
