For his lunchtime talk, Richard Broomhall will present and discuss three works in progress:

Tom Long's Truths - A user responsive video/audio environment exploring the polyphonic narrative structure of folklore.

Burn Your Shadow - A multi screen video installation investigating the conflicting ideologies behind Parkour and Free Running, the commodification of freedom and the transience of identity in urban spaces.

My Hegemony - a cell-phone based video sculpture. An anthropomorphised phone has a Gerald Ratner-esque epiphany and vocalises its thoughts on humanity.

Richard has an MFA from Bath Spa University and through his production of moving image, audio and photographic work which engages with the narratives of specific sites, our cultural relationship with the digital image and the convergence of nature culture and technology.

Richard's video work has been screed at galleries, museums and festivals across the UK, including The Animal Gaze (animalgaze.org), Visions in the Nunnery, Trampoline’s 10th birthday, The Compass of Resistance Film Festival and Bristol City Museum.
