Kinneir Dufort are a design and innovation company based in Bristol. Their work is predominantly product design based, and spans consumer, industrial and medical sectors.

Alongside client-facing work, Kinneir Dufort regularly undertake self-initiated projects to explore ideas and develop thinking tools and processes.

One such conceptual project is the REVIVE smartphone, which challenges the inevitability of obsolescence in consumer electronics by examining our emotional relationship with the products we own, as well as considering re-manufacturing, upgradability, and re-use from the beginning of the design process.

We look forward to meeting Craig Wightman and Duncan Shotton, who will introduce us to Kinneir Dufort and explore how product identity - particularly when expressed through user interface - might be used to established stronger, richer connections between people and the products we own and use.

This Lunchtime Talk is part of Open Studio Friday which takes place at the Studio every week.

Lunchtime Talks are informal presentations by Studio residents and associates. They normally take place at 1pm and are free and open to everybody who’s interested in what we do.

After the Talk, we also invite you to stay with us for the afternoon to continue the conversation or work on your own projects. We provide chairs, tables, wireless and a great space. You bring what you need to work with (laptop/mobile). Our open afternoons close at 5pm, usually with a trip to the bar.

Let us know if you haven’t been to the Studio before and we'll be happy to show you around! Send an email to Shirin@pmstudio.co.uk and we will meet you at 12.30pm for a quick tour.
