Good for Nothing is a community of thinkers, do-ers, makers and tinkerers applying their skills and energy to accelerate the work of cause-led innovators and change makers; it's about diverse groups of people collaborating together, working in new, faster, fun and better ways by supporting ideas and people that are leading the way to what a flourishing 21st century society might look like.

We at the Studio are happy to be hosting the second Bristol Good for Nothing hackathon taking the very Bristol theme of doing good with food. If you know something about design, coding, thinking, making or doing in some way and you like the idea of donating your super-skills to some great local ventures, this your chance to do something good for nothing and to meet loads of awesome people doing the same.

Good for Food has already announced that it will be supporting:

  • The Severn Project - a drug and alcohol recovery programme offering education, training and employment through their community farm project in Keynsham
  • Fareshare SW/ Feeding the 5000 - Fareshare work with the food industry to minimise fit-for-purpose fresh, frozen and long-life food going to waste, and send this food into organisations working with the most vulnerable people in the community.
  • Forgotten Foods - Making good use of the food that we find.
'Forgotten foods would like to show that there are more efficient ways to use the natural resources already found growing and available in the Bristol area.'
