There has never been a better time to be a digital creative in Bristol

Watershed and the Pervasive Media Studio are once again partnering with BBC Academy, Creative Skillset and many other partners at venues across the city for Digital Bristol Week as part of the Digital Cities initiative.

Amongst the packed programme of the week you can find Studio resident Jon Dovey talking about REACT and the opportunities and impact of technology in the arts during 'The Space Day' on Tue 10 May, and Producer Jo Lansdowne joining a panel of great cultural commissioners and producers to share our Sandbox methodology and the benefits of commissioning a slate of projects that can support one another through the R&D process during the 'Develop Day' on Fri 13 May.

Studio residents Anagram will be running an incredible free workshop called PLACE - THE FIFTH DIMENSION IN STORIES. Site-specific work offers a great deal of challenges as well as opportunities. ANAGRAM's work has involved them designing huge bespoke sets, as well as working to specific locations that have included muddy fields and ancient palaces. Participants will get to learn from real world examples of award winning work, then given the opportunity to spend some time dreaming up new site-specific projects across Bristol or elsewhere. Tickets are free but places are limited to we recommend you snap this one up quickly. Book here

More highlights from the week:

- Workshop : Kim Plowright - Making it happen: turning good ideas into great projects

- Workshop : Rob Matthews - Process modelling with Lego figures

- Creating Content for the Bristol Data Dome in the Planetarium

These are just a few events in a week of exciting workshops, conference and networking opportunities, designed to develop your skills and support the growth of the creative industries in Bristol and the SW. Events also include a focus on building a more diverse workforce, short form storytelling, digital arts and the future of news.

Many of the events are free and the workshops are likely to be particularly popular so we would recommend booking quickly.
