Tarim

Tarim creates Media Playgrounds - installations which people can both play with and build new and different places to play in.

We are delighted to announce the return of in person Lunchtime Talks! Our talks will now be both in the building and streamed live, so you can join us from the comfort of the Studio or the comfort of your own screen, in your own space.

Capacity will be limited and we are asking people to book in for the talks, if you can. Please feel free to turn up on the day, although we can't guarantee there will be a space.

Book your free ticket here.

In this Lunchtime Talk Studio Resident Tine Bech will discuss her work creating social interaction and colour in public spaces. More than ever, our shared public spaces and town centres have the opportunity for change. At a time of rapid reflection, we should ask what place can and should be in the future?

Using examples from her practice, Tine will share ideas on the importance of ‘visual invitation to social interaction’ and will explore how play encourages audiences to move from looking to active participation.

Tine will share 'This Place in Colour' a R&D digital project that will allow people to see the environment around them through colour, using a smartphone camera. It is an action research project that aims to give people a voice and a website & manifesto for place. It is also a tool to play and enable thoughts and feelings about place that sometimes can be hard to articulate.
