Make Shift is a space for 18-30 year old creatives to come together in the Pervasive Media Studio at Watershed on the first Tuesday evening of each month. This is an opportunity to meet other creatives in the city, seek advice on your creative project or next steps in your career in a welcoming environment.

Each month we have a guest from the Pervasive Media Studio who works professionally in the creative industries who will speak about their work and can give advice. Guest speakers will be experts in their field, from VR film makers to finance professionals.

During our session in March, we will be joined by Media Creative and Independent Filmmaker Marcus Smith. Marcus will share his experience of working as a producer on Storytrails – a project developed by the StoryFutures Academy run by the National Film and Television School and Royal Holloway University of London. StoryTrails is a deep dive into our collective histories. Through virtual and augmented reality experiences that remix film footage from BBC and BFI archives, it invited audiences to experience history where it happened across 15 towns and cities, including Bristol. Marcus used immersive technologies to uncover untold and intriguing stories from Bristol, bringing history to life and inspiring conversations about who we are now, and where we are heading.
