To celebrate its company launch, Limina Immersive are excited to announce the UK's very first public VR festival, The Limina VR Weekender. Creators, we invite you to submit your work!

The Limina VR Weekender is a Bristol-based VR festival that aims to introduce a range of quality creative VR to a broad audience and in doing so, demonstrate the medium’s potential as an art form and means of creative expression. The event is a coproduction between Limina and Watershed, held across 3 days, consisting of VR screening sessions and talks.

Whether you are an industry guru or just starting out in VR, we would love to hear from you.

Information on the festival will be included on our website soon: www.liminaimmersive.com

The festival audience will be the public, a select group of industry influencers and judges. One winning piece will be selected by the judges for a Limina creative VR award. There will be one runner up. Social media and PR activity around the winning piece will be led by Catherine Allen.

VR experiences will be screened throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday to 5 audience members at a time using Oculus Rifts.

Submission criteria:

  • Under 20 minutes
  • Compatible with the Oculus Rift (this can include most 360 video files which we run through a 360 video player app)
  • We will consider experiences with additional elements such as actors/provocation of other senses etc if deemed achievable in the context of the event programme.

Submissions will be reviewed and selected based on their creative vision and effective use of the VR medium.

Submission Deadline: Wednesday 8th November 2017 (Midnight)

Limina will notify all submitting parties by the Monday 13th November, via email, if their experience has been successful or not.

Event Dates: 1st, 2nd and 3rd December 2017
Event Address: Watershed, 1 Canon’s Road, Bristol, BS1 5TX
