We have developed sophisticated perceptual abilities to integrate different sensory information from the world around us into a smooth and continuous experience of ‘reality’ in the physical world. Immersive technologies such as VR offer different versions of reality which are at odds with this reality.  Lisa May Thomas’ new work 'Playing in the Gaps' explores the perceptual layering of more than one ‘reality’ or environment which are simultaneously occurring in one space. Through this investigation, Lisa is interested in finding out what our perceptual biases are, and whether these can adapt through interventions.
