Based on the 2015 bestseller by Keigo Higashino and directed by Tsutsumi Yukihiko (Keizoku: Beautiful Dreamer), this mystery drama explores whether advanced medical technology and AI can drive human happiness.

Kaoruko (Ryoko Shinohara) and Kazuaki (Hidetoshi Nishijima) have 2 children and one day their daughter is involved in a tragic accident, changing her life forever. As a result, the couple face an excruciatingly difficult decision, which is further complicated when a young doctor presents an unusual new technology that has the potential to not only save their daughter's life, but improve her medical condition.

The dramatic performances give light to the intense love and pain felt by Kaoruko and Kazuaki, reflecting on the strength of a parent’s bond with their child, the fragility of human life and the innate desire to hold onto it.
