Considered one of the best horror films of all times Takashi Miike gained international prominence with this deeply disturbing tale of a deadly young woman who turns the tables on her middle-aged suitor. Aoyama, is a timid, middle-aged TV producer and widower, who is persuaded to conducts a series of fake auditions in order to find a new wife. When he meets the beautiful Asami (the iconic Eihi Shiina), an ex-ballet dancer with a mysterious and tragic personal history, he falls for her immediately.

But director Miike reminds us to be careful what we wish for, and as the film shifts into full on horror mode, Aoyama suffers beyond his wildest imagination. It remains a chilling experience that will change the way you look at cheese-wire forevermore and is most definitely not for the faint-hearted.
