RAI Film Festival 2021
Please note: This event took place in March 2021
RAI Film Festival, the UK's longest running festival of contemporary documentary and the newest voices in ethnographic cinema, finds a new home online for 2021.
Alongside daily talks and a festival-wide focus on anti-racism and archive, you'll find work from the modern masters of documentary - including André Singer and Werner Herzog's latest exploration of how humans make sense of meteorites (Fireball) - alongside gems from non-fiction names-to-watch.
Discover women's stories from across the globe - BAFTA nominee Yasmin Fedda's Ayouni recently received 4 stars ("a raging lament for Syria's disappeared") from The Guardian's Peter Bradshaw - alongside the celebratory sounds of Juju and politicized urgency of Afrobeat in Elder’s Corner, a rare insight into transgender identity in China in The Two Lives of Li Ermao, and much more.
The festival runs online from Fri 19 - Sun 28 March - all the films and pre-recorded content are available on demand across the 10 days, with a schedule of live discussion and panels. Check out the full lineup here.
