In this Bristol+Bath Creative R+D event, Dr Tarek Virani will launch his new report with Jenn Blackwood, which unpacks the implications of COVID-19 on the South West England’s creative and cultural sector (CCS), followed by a selection of panellists sharing their stories of building resilience into their business models and how they’re looking towards a hybrid future.

COVID-19 has had a devastating impact on the creative and cultural sector in South West England. In this first comprehensive piece of work from Dr Tarek Virani and Jenn Blackwood they look at the impact on the region by asking questions about medium and long term transition and resilience as part of the sector’s recovery. This piece of work begins to unpack the implications of a sector in transition with a focus on South West England’s CCS.

The findings indicate that supporting a transition to hybridity (a combination of digital and non-digital means) specifically hybridised production models, income models and organisational models can play an important role in supporting a resilient transition and subsequent path to recovery for the South West's CCS.

This event is presented by Bristol+Bath Creative R+D which seeks to forge connections and partnerships in Bristol and Bath, sharing knowledge, creating crossovers and opportunities across the creative industries.
