Relational Power - addressing the conditions needed for change
Please note: This event took place in Oct 2021
How can we harness the power in relationships and trusted networks to bring about change in our spheres of influence, and more widely? And how do we account for power dynamics to ensure that our thinking and action is socially just?
Join us for a free panel discussion exploring rational power and how we can actualise change in everyday life as part of Bristol+Bath Creative R+D’s Hopeful Futures Seminar Series. The discussion will be chaired by Dr. Furaha Asani, Research Lead at Watershed with panel members Khadijah Diskin – PhD candidate and decolonial theorist at Manchester Metropolitan University, Dr. Francesca Sobande - Lecturer in Digital Media Studies at Cardiff University, Tony Bhajam – Inclusion Producer at Watershed and Dr. Keith Hebden, Community Organiser, Writer, Activist and Priest.
This discussion will have BSL interpretation and there will be the option of enabling the Zoom auto transcription feature. Please get in touch with the team to let them know if you have any specific access requirements and the team will do their best to ensure they are accommodated.
This event is presented by Bristol+Bath Creative R+D and is part of their Hopeful Futures series of free online discussions that aim to convene a global conversation about how we can develop a better future by exploring sustainable growth, alternatives to capitalist economies, inclusion, responses to climate emergencies, and responsible innovation.
