Filmmaker Robin Campillo (120 BPM) transports us back to the 1970s in this visually striking, personal film set on a French army base in recently independent Madagascar.
At the time, a few armed forces and their families were living in Madagascar on one of the last French foreign military bases. Influenced by his reading of the intrepid comic book heroine Fantômette, ten-year-old Thomas soaks up the world that surrounds him.
But beneath the carefree expatriate life, his eyes are gradually opening to another reality...
