A touring punk band find themselves besieged by neo-Nazis inside a backwoods Oregon club, in this claustrophobic and ultra-violent siege thriller from Jeremy Saulnier (director of 2013 cult hit Blue Ruin).

Life on the road is tough for un-signed punk band The Ain't Rights. Broke, tired, and at each other's throats after a cancelled gig, they are faced with the prospect of siphoning off gas just in order to make the long drive home. So when, exasperated, they decide to do one last impromtu show after being offered a gig at a seedy and remote dive bar frequented by neo-Nazis, it’s safe to say they are expecting a tough night. Any thoughts they have of being home free quickly crumble when they stumble across a murder in the venue’s designated green room and find themselves trapped. The venue’s owners – a thuggish gang of supremacists (fronted by a truly unsettling Patrick Stewart, playing brilliantly against type) - are determined to ensure they keep their mouths shut. But as suspicion, doubt and fear from both camps starts to boil over - culminating in a series of violent acts as the gang attempt to keep things under control - the band are left with just their wits, and whatever weapons they can scrounge, in order to stay alive.

With an unmistakable air of exploitation movies past, this deceptively simple premise quickly elevates into a terrifying and beautifully crafted edge-of-your-seat thriller- albeit with just the right seasoning of humour thown in. Grimy, vicious and gloriously taut, this is one riot that really knows how put you through the wringer.
