Andrew Moore (Carnegie Mellon University) will be in conversation with Nick Pearce (University of Bath) about the current horizon for artificial intelligence, robotics and Big Data and the social, economic and political implications of technological change. He will also discuss the challenges facing post-industrial cities, how universities can help cities succeed and the stresses of city and national politics in the age of Trump. He will draw upon the lessons he has learned from his experiences of working at Google, being at the cutting-edge of tech investment and contributing to the successful rebirth of Pittsburgh as a new tech centre.
