Loving wife and mother Katja's (Kruger) life falls apart when her Kurdish husband and their young son are killed in a bombing in Hamburg. Struggling to cope with the shock and her tremendous grief, she becomes obsessed with finding the perpetrators and understanding the reasons behind the seemingly senseless killing. The resulting trial of the neo-Nazi suspects pushes her towards a moral crisis in her desperation for both justice - and revenge.
