Platforms for Designing StoryWorlds

Lunchtime Talks are a series of informal presentations at Watershed's Pervasive Media Studio. They normally take place at 13:00 on a Friday, are free and are open to everybody who is interested in what they do. Come along, bring a sandwich, and get to know more about the Studio community, current and up-coming projects, or residents' work.

Studio Resident Vincent Baidoo joined the Pervasive Media Studio on a short 'micro-residency', aiming to develop a game plugin that would give people with no experience of coding the chance to make their own games. In this talk he discusses the fundamental changes that may occur to the landscape of gaming as we know it, if non-gamers would begin to create their own personalised games.

With an aim of creating StoryWorlds as vast as Disney and Shonen Jump, Vincent will share his personal journey of making unique games without knowing how to code. Having come to game design after publishing a number of his own comics and animations, Vincent will also look at the distinctive impact of narratives launched through different forms of media, whilst offering insight on the tools currently available to Transmedial producers, as well as the scope of future possibilities.

The Pervasive Media Studio is located within the Watershed building. Let us know if you'd like a tour and we'll be happy to show you around. Send an email to studio@watershed.co.uk.
