A journey across Europe (and back) collecting love songs
Bristol-based artists and studio residents, Action Hero (Gemma Paintin and James Stenhouse) travelled through 33 European countries, over the course of 6 months. They clocked up a massive 32,000km and collected over 700 love songs, sung by ordinary people from Finland to Greece, Spain to Norway and everywhere in between. These songs are now broadcasting 24/7 via a network of 'beacons', placed at borders and edge-spaces across the continent.
Developed in part via a residency at Pervasive Media Studio, Gemma and James return to the Pervasive Media Studio to talk about their journey, love and the future of Europe.
Lunchtime Talks are a series of informal presentations at Watershed's Pervasive Media Studio as part of Open Studio Fridays. They normally take place at 13:00, are free and open to everybody who is interested. Come along, bring a sandwich, get to know more about the Studio, and after the talk we invite you to stay with us for the afternoon to continue the conversation or work on your own projects.
