Pan's Labyrinth, the 2006 Oscar® winning film, takes life as a novel for the first time. Its world-renowned director Guillermo del Toro turned to the international award-winning writer Cornelia Funke to reimagine Pan’s Labyrinth as literature.

Join us for an 'in conversation' with Cornelia Funke who will be talking about the journey to the novel and the place of myth and fairy tale in times of political upheaval, as well as an exclusive screening of the film in glorious 35mm. Following the screening Cornelia will be signing copies of the book.

Set after the Spanish Civil War, Pan's Labyrinth mixes political turmoil with vivid fantasy, as eleven year old Ofelia encounters the mysterious faun who believes she is the reincarnation of a princess.

Charged with completing a series of tasks to prove her worth, she is drawn into a mysterious and magical web that is equal parts enchanting and disturbing. Pairing allegory with sharp-eyed historical detail, Pan's Labyrinth brought del Toro to a new international audience.
