The rule book of web drama has yet to be written. Rik Lander will explore some of the ways it has developed by showing his own work as well as his favourite and least favourite web dramas. In addition to the creative methods, he’ll also talk about the economics behind these examples. Lots of great clips - perfect to eat your sarnies to.

Rik Lander made magic-tree (2001), an early example of web drama and was show-runner on Wannabes, the BBC’s first interactive teen soap. He’s in the PMStudio working on Viral Spiral – a research into interactive TV game play and a Media Sandbox 2009 awarded project.

To be followed by an informal discussion 'Drawing with Bicycles – shapes in the city' with George Platts – artist, game inventor and player, veteran cyclist and co-founder of Cyclebag – the organisation that grew into Sustrans.

George is interested in the shape and meaning of people’s cycle journeys –they are not just a way to get from A to B but can be of great refinement and full of meaning.

Such skill and knowledge could the basis of great art but also fun and games:
– using new technologies to track routes across the city is a starting point
– what we might do with this is up for discussion.
