Don't miss this opportunity to find out more about Duncan Speakman, a critically acclaimed theatre practitioner, associate artist at Arnolfini and senior lecturer at the University of the West of England. His work explores how we use sound to navigate geographical, personal and political environments, creating experiences that physically and emotionally engage audiences in public spaces.

Duncan has become famous for his cinematic style of theatre using engaging soundtracks and beautifully presented framed scenes and his creation subtlemobs. In late 2009, Duncan has been commission by Vauxhall to re-examines the classic British street scene. The result was the 'as if it were the last time', a beautiful subtlemob he has taken to the streets of London, Liverpool, Bristol and Amsterdam. 'As if it were the last time' will next take place in Tokyo on 3 March 2010.

Duncan Speakman has been exhibited internationally and was awarded the Clark Trust Bursary for digital arts in 2001. In 2007, he was peer advisor on the Almost Perfect locative media residency at Banff New Media Institute and since 2008 has been an artist in residence at the Studio.

Duncan is speaking within our Lunchtime Talks, a series of informal presentations by Studio residents. Lunchtime Talks normally take place at 1pm during Open Studio Friday. The event is free and open to all.
