Dorkbot presents: Guitar Controlled Old-School Synthesizers
May's Dorkbot talk is from Costas Calamvokis, who says:
"I'll be talking about a project I'm working on to control old-school (analog) synths using guitars. This can produce sounds never before heard and ways of interacting with guitar never before experienced. Whether this is a good thing or not, only time will tell!
I will talk a bit about the idea, how I got the first prototype into famous hands and then go into what makes this system unique. On the way I’ll explain a bit about Fishman’s Tripleplay guitar to MIDI system (which I also worked on) and analog synthesisers.
This is an ongoing project, so I look forward to hearing people’s ideas on the direction I’m going.
Hopefully there'll be a hands-on demo too."
Tuesday 17th May 2016, 7.30pm for 8pm start in the Pervasive Media Studio in the Watershed.
Dorkbot is a group of geeks who meet every 3rd Tuesday of the month in the Pervasive Media Studio. They also have lots of connections with Bristol Hackspace.
