Jane will talk about her latest project which is a 360 first-person documentary for two people that explores the power of human connection.

Jane is a writer for film and theatre, she is excited by a good story, mind trickery and turning audiences into participants. Advances in technology have provided Jane with the tools to push audiences further, she likes to experiment with new inventions (Virtual Reality, Tactile and Audio...),…In 2011 Jane founded the In My Shoes Project. In My Shoes is an internationally recognised empathy project, it is an ever-expanding collection of first-person documentary style interactive performances, which guide participants through the beautiful, the challenging, the mundane and the surreal aspects of being human.
Jane is currently working on In My Shoes: Intimacy. This is a new 360 experience which explores the power of human connection. Put aside your inhibitions, sit down with a partner, look into their eyes. Let these strangers guide you through their impromptu, unconventional & intense moments of intimacy. Intimacy is a first-person documentary designed for two people to experience three encounters from six very different perspectives. It tells the stories of two strangers, two comrades and two lovers. It explores the importance of intimacy in survival, relationships and sexuality from a first-person perspective. Jane designs interactive experiences, she works in theatre, interactive theatre, game and film. Jane's work focuses on narrative, and explores using technology as a way to intensify audience experience.
In 2009 she began working with story, theatre, audio technology and video goggles (Vuzix), she has gone on to design experiences for Oculus DK2 and Samsung Gear. Jane likes to play with ideas, write stories and experiment with alternative platforms, she is currently exploring VR, AR, AI & Haptics.
This Lunchtime Talk is part of Open Studio Friday, which takes place at the Studio every week.

Lunchtime Talks are informal presentations by Studio residents and associates. They normally take place at 1pm on Friday, are free and open to everybody who’s interested in what we do.
After the Talk, we also invite you to stay with us for the afternoon to continue the conversation or work on your own projects. We provide chairs, tables, wireless and a great space. You bring what you need to work with (laptop/mobile). Our open afternoons close at 5pm.
