This talk is all about Neon Dance and Bristol Robotics Lab's collaboration 'Prehension Blooms' a live performance work that also considers remote audience members, by providing access to creative spaces using robot avatars.

Bristol Robotics Laboratory is the most comprehensive academic centre for multi-disciplinary robotics research in the UK. It is a collaborative partnership between the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol) and the University of Bristol, and home to a vibrant community of over 450 academics, researchers and industry practitioners.This talk will be held in the building and online! The talk will focus on Neon Dance and Bristol Robotics Lab's collaboration 'Prehension Blooms', which is a live performance work that also considers remote audience members, by providing access to creative spaces using robot avatars. Alix Partridge and Adrienne Hart will demonstrate their robots in the making, which feature in the performance work, and discuss plans for using tele-operation in a live performance context; enabling live and remote audiences to come together.

Directions:
The Lunchtime talks take place in the Pervasive Media Studio Event Space. To access the Studio, please go to the Main Watershed Box Office entrance and go upstairs to the Café Bar. Walk across the cafe bar, turn right and walk towards the double doors. Go through into the corridor and walk all the way down until you reach the Studio. A member of staff will sign you in, and check your ticket, if you have booked.
The Studio is wheelchair accessible, and the events space has a hearing loop. The last talk of every month is BSL interpreted.
*Please note this is a hybrid event and will be live streamed so please be aware you will be in the live broadcast and recording when watching in the Studio.
