Joyce Nga Yu Lee is a Hong Konger and award winning theatre director in the UK who has been making and touring internationally for 20 years. She is former Artistic Director of Mind the Gap, England’s premier learning disability theatre company, and her most iconic work was ZARA, an epic outdoor performance. Joyce has an expertise in braiding inclusive practice in her work in communicating complex subjects such as sexuality, activism and climate change. She has spoken and taught in universities, conferences and in communities, including the National Theatre, HK Academy of Performing Arts and ISPA Conference.
Supervised by the University of York School of Arts and Creative Technology, supported by Clore Leadership and Arts and Humanities Research Council, Joyce has been on a journey last six months to explore digital user experience (UX) in Arts and Cultural events from the perspective of people with Learning Disabilities and/or Autism. At this lunchtime talk Joyce would share her findings including motivations and barriers, and hope to explore with fellow artists and creative technologists how we might further advance the aims of design for all in solidarity.
