WrongMove is a video work that explores the conditions of the Greater London rental market over a year, creating a 3D visual landscape from a rental market optimised for profit and a desperation to find a home.

What values float to the top, and what values disappear? Looking for something calm, quiet, peaceful, luxurious, exclusive or accessible? Must haves: garden, chef quarters, swimming pool, marble floors or step free access?

In a market spiralling out of control, information on accessibility (even the lack of it) by the online property platforms, the estate agents and landlords is simply not worth enough money to care. This is what happens without enforced regulation; capital wins over access. WrongMove is built by Joseph Wilk using data scrapping, game engines and 3d modelling, and is a response to the frustration of infrastructure, estate agents, landlords and trying to fit a wheelchair into a home. In this talk he will walk us through the process of turning experiences of frustration into work designed to shame rental websites into action.

Join us online on YouTube Live, or in the building on Friday, the 6th of March 2026 at 1pm for the talk and to take part in the Q and A discussion afterwards.
