What if a local community could step inside the future of its neighbourhood and shape it together?

In this talk Jesscia will share the  Future Places Toolkit, a Bristol-based social venture, that is transforming planning consultation from static plans and questionnaires into immersive community engagement, directly in the places where change is planned.

She will also discuss a recent collaboration with Bristol City Council, using arts, culture and immersive technology to explore neighbourhood visioning in South Bristol exploring her company Uninvited Guests's approach to enabling more diverse communities to meaningfully participate in local placemaking and decision-making.

Jessica Warren (Hoffmann) is Co-Artistic Director of Uninvited Guests theatre company and a resident at the Pervasive Media Studio. She is Co-Director of Future Places Toolkit, alongside residents Paul Clarke and Duncan Speakman, and Jack Norris from Zubr.

Directions:

The Lunchtime talks take place in the Pervasive Media Studio Event Space. To access the Studio, please go to the Main Watershed Box Office entrance and go upstairs to the Café Bar. Walk across the cafe bar, turn right and walk towards the double doors. Go through into the corridor and walk all the way down until you reach the Studio. A member of staff will sign you in, and check your ticket, if you have booked.

The Studio is wheelchair accessible, and the events space has a hearing loop. The last talk of every month is BSL interpreted.
