The Last Blues Song of a Lost Afronaut is a immersive theatre show in development. The discovery of an archaic device on a lifeless planet leads an Afronaut explorer to question the origins of his/her civilization.

This Lunchtime Talk will be broadcast live on Watershed's YouTube channel

Edson will discuss his project the last blues song first imagined in 2013 when he became Watershed Artist in Residence. The Last Blues Song of a Lost Afronaut is an immersive theatre piece exploring decolonised identities, mythologies, cultural syncretism, ghosts exodus and environmental collapse. Edson will update us on the progress of The last blues song, the challenges he has faced on realising the scale of the idea and the amount of funding he would need to raise to fully realise his vision. He will also touch on Afrofuturism and how since working on the last blues song, Afrofuturism has continued to inform many of his major projects.

Join us on Fri 1st May, 13:00-14:00 for the talk and to take part in the discussion afterwards.
