Hanna Wirman was a PhD student at the University of the West of England, School of Creative Arts. Her main research interest laid in the area of gender and computer games. Her PhD research concentrated on user-generated content produced by female players and aimed to discuss identity construction through co-productivity and user participation in contemporary computer games.

Hanna moved to Bristol in 2007 after living in Copenhagen and Finland. She is actively publishing and participating in conferences in the fields of Game Studies, Media Studies and Cultural Studies, and is also a member of UWE’s Play Research Group.
