Duncan Speakman - portable platforms for realtime audio processing- findings from a tsb feasibility study
PMStudio Resident Duncan Speakman thinks that we don't listen to the world enough. Over the past few months Duncan has been researching portable devices for realtime audio processing. Things that would let artists use the sounds around the audience, things that architects could use to model the acoustic impact of new buildings on social spaces, a generally open platform.
On Friday 10th July, Duncan will present projects made with custom micro-computers by artist Kathy Hinde and developer Tim Redfern, some software applications for the iPhone created in collaboration with Mobile Pie, and talk about his findings. To counteract any boredom that audiences may feel during the presentation the devices/projects will be available for people to try out all day.
