Creating Narratives in Digital Theatre
A talk by two artists who investigate the relationship between the actual, and the mediatised body by fusing live acrobatic performance, extreme close-up video and new writing.

This talk will be held in the building and online! Book your free ticket here.
We are handbalancer Natalie Reckert and digital artist Mark Morreau. We create full length performances for theatres, installations for art spaces as well as films and picture essays. The performance „Natalie Inside Out“ is our most recent work. www.natalieinsideout.com
We investigate the relationship between the actual, and the mediatised body by fusing live acrobatic performance, extreme close-up video and new writing.
Our work deals with current questions at the intersection of body and technology. We ask what it means to be a human being and a human body in today's digital world.
In this talk we are going to explain both how we work with the inter-active software Isadora https://troikatronix.com/ which is central to our work. We are also going to explain about how we create narratives or streams of consciousness on stage where the visuals, the spoken word, and the visceral performance are equally important, without one dominating the other and thus creating a true blend of the digital and the lived experience.
Natalie Reckert is a circus maker creating full length shows since 2007. She has written a BA thesis about the effect of acrobatic training on body awareness at Humboldt University Berlin. www.nataliereckert.com
Mark Morreau is an established film-maker and photographer. Recent work as digital artist includes Unclaimed: an installation at The Barbican with The Liminal Space. www.morreaux.co.uk
