MyWorld Fellow: Making The World Differently - "What skills and opportunities do young people need for a career in creative technologies?'In today’s fast-paced digital landscape, the convergence of creativity and technology represents not just a trend but a burgeoning sector ripe with opportunities. To prepare young people for careers in this dynamic field, my research delves into the essential skills and opportunities necessary for success in creative technology. Drawing from his background as a creative practitioner, alongside his experience in education, he aims to illuminate the need for collaboration to redefine education and career development for a dynamic workforce for creative technology and the wider cultural sector.
Frazer is a creative professional and resident of the Pervasive Media Studio with a background in theatre and film. With over a decade of experience as a facilitator and educator, he works passionately with young people to develop skills for careers in creative technologies, informed by his 10-month research fellowship with the Watershed Talent Development Team and MyWorld. He was recently recognised as a ‘Tech4Good Champion for the South West,’ Frazer is committed to using technology for social impact and supports organisations and educators through consultancy, designing tailored, engaging workshops that connect creativity and technology.

The Pervasive Media Studio is a partnership between the Watershed, University of the West of England and University of Bristol. The lunchtime talks are partly supported by MyWorld, a project led by the University of Bristol to support creative industries in the region. Watershed is supported by Arts Council England.

Directions:
The Lunchtime talks take place in the Pervasive Media Studio Event Space. To access the Studio, please go to the Main Watershed Box Office entrance and go upstairs to the Café Bar. Walk across the cafe bar, turn right and walk towards the double doors. Go through into the corridor and walk all the way down until you reach the Studio. A member of staff will sign you in, and check your ticket, if you have booked.
The Studio is wheelchair accessible, and the events space has a hearing loop. The last talk of every month is BSL interpreted.
