Join Creative Technologist Coral Manton for a lunchtime talk exploring this evolving role. Coral will share her own experience working as a Creative Technologist alongside early insights from her research into Creative Technologists working across the UK, exploring their place in the creative industries and the opportunities and barriers to working in this space.
Drawing on conversations with practitioners, she’ll reflect on what the role looks like in practice - across industry, research, and community settings - as well as the influence of generative AI.
She will share insights from her recent MyWorld and Watershed Fellowship at Knowle West Media Centre, exploring the future of technology in community contexts and how it can be more accessible, inclusive, and locally relevant and the role of the Creative Technologist in this work.
Coral is a Senior Lecturer in Creative Computing at Bath Spa University, Co-Founder of Women Reclaiming AI, Co-Director of Control Shift, and a resident of the Pervasive Media Studio. The Role of the Creative Technologist research project is led by Dr Coral Manton, with Co-Investigator J Ponte and production support from Nigel Fryatt.
Join us online on YouTube Live, or in the building on Friday 26th June at 13:00 for the talk and to take part in the Q and A discussion afterwards.
