Merlin Goldman is a electroacoustic artist and creative technologist based in the South West. His practice sits where listening meets electronics: field recording, data sonification, biosensing, and spatial audio, built with Max MSP and custom Arduino and ESP32 hardware.
Recent work includes Rock Piano, a set of Porthleven harbour stones that play notes through the visitor’s own body, and Please Hold, a vintage telephone that rings unprompted and answers with fragments of sound, shown at the Holburne Museum. He is currently developing Jasper, a plant sensor that turns living plants into instruments.
Merlin is a MyWorld Scholar, Porthleven Prize winner, and PhD researcher at Queen Mary University of London, and releases electronic music as fotol.
