We invite you to a discussion event at The Pervasive Media Studio to introduce our 2011 artists in residence, and to spark a conversation around their new work.
Throughout April and May, two groups of artists are spending supported time at the studio, to develop new sonic/dance and theatre based works that use pervasive technologies. Sharon Clark and Tom Burton will be developing a theatre piece inspired by Angela Carter. Laura Kriefman of the Guerilla Dance Project will be working with the composer Tim Bamber and the interactive experience designer Robin Ray to create a unique piece incorporating site-specific dance with sound and music.
Taking place on the 31 March, in their first week with us, this event will be an initial look at their ideas, concepts and plans. After the event, we'll most likely head over to the Watershed bar to informally continue the conversation. If you would like to reserve a free place at the event, please email grace.denton@watershed.co.uk quoting Artists Residencies 2011 Introduction Event. We look forward to welcoming you.
The residencies will last for three months, and your input is ongoing. Watch out for further work-in-progress and showcase events throughout April and May.
The residencies are supported by Arts Council England, Sound and Music, St George's and Charles Hazelwood. For more information visit The Pervasive Media Studio website: http://www.pmstudio.co.uk/project/artists-residencies-2011
