Ralph Hoyte, PMStudio resident, has written a new poem ‘The Floating Harbour’, which was commissioned by Local Journeys and supported by Bristol City Council.

Two centuries ago the Floating Harbour opened its dock gates to the world’s shipping. Since then there have been 200 years of trade, development, decline and redevelopment.

Now you can walk all the way round the perimeter of the City Docks. Ralph Hoyte has written a poem that captures the history, trading destinations, social change and culture of the Floating Harbour that you can listen to as you walk.

Sections of the poem are downloadable as mp3 audio files and PDFs with a map from http://www.localjourneys.org.uk/floatingharbour.

The poem will be reformatted as a mediascape in the future.
