The goals of HP’s Pervasive Media projects are understanding and deploying the art and science of delivering ‘the right thing in the moment’ and creating technology that enables the delivery of such experiences through context-based services. 

21st century lifestyles and business practices demand value delivery on the move and in many situations. An explosion in mobile services is being fuelled by the availability of powerful media-rich mobile devices and pervasive networking. The challenge in this high growth area will be those that can deliver ‘the right thing in the moment’. That is, the higher value experiences will be those that are tuned to the user’s situation.

The project spans: novel interaction devices; context management and experience authoring. It has its roots in pervasive computing research and builds on the earlier Mobile Bristol and mscape projects.
