Geraint studied for an MA in Media Practice at UWE and was commissioned by Local Journeys and the National Trust to create location-aware music compositions for the ‘Channel Weather Symmetry’ project, which is grant-funded by the PRS Foundation and others through the Beyond Borders scheme. He is interested in the interaction between slow movement/travel, creativity and technology; and also in exploring how geographic data/GPS, new web technologies and images can be used alongside music and sound to create immersive location-based experiences for audiences. Geraint's past projects have included the imaginary record label High Quality Recordings (2002-2008), which explored concepts of multiple identities, storytelling and collaborative working; and Llechi, a series of musical pieces inspired by five locations in Wales which the audience was encouraged to visit and listen to on location. His music has been played extensively on the radio and used in television and film productions, although the royalty cheques aren’t what they used to be.
