John Norton is founder and Director of Give It A Name Theatre: a Cardiff based company making located, immersive and critically engaged theatre. He divides his time between acting, producing, directing, music, and general provocation. A DJ for over 20 years, he has warmed up for Gil Scott Heron and Leonard Cohen, and had music played on Radio1 and 1Xtra. He was a recipient of a Creative Wales Award for sound research.  As an actor he won the BBC Norman Beaton Fellowship for Radio Drama in 2013.  Matthew Wright and John won the Space Prize for Digital Innovation in 2014 for Bordergame with National Theatre Wales.  Current projects include developing storylines and content for a series of mobile phone games as part of History Of Place, a live binaural version of Robinson Crusoe with Bristol Old Vic Ferment, and a site responsive piece at Citileaks Urban Art Festival in Cologne.
